Built to protect your phone and your money

Official, signed buildEvery version is signed by AirSwap. Your phone refuses an update that was not.
Google Play or direct downloadGoogle Play is the simplest way to install. If you use the direct download instead, Android shows a warning for any app from outside the Play Store. That is expected.
Only the permissions it needsCamera only to scan your ID, photos only the ones you choose, and notifications if you allow them.
Locked to your phoneSigning in on a new phone needs a code sent to your number. Turn on fingerprint or PIN lock in Security for extra protection.

Staying up to date

  • Small fixes arrive on their own the next time you open the app.
  • If you installed from Google Play, bigger updates come through Play like any other app.
  • If you used the direct download, get bigger updates from this page and install them over your current version.
  • You never need to uninstall first. Your account, wallet and trades are kept safely on our servers.

About downloading AirSwap

Is AirSwap free?

Yes, the app is free to download. You only pay a fee on a trade, and it is always shown before you confirm.

Why does my phone say the app may be harmful?

Android shows this for every app installed from outside the Play Store. If you downloaded the file from this page it is the official AirSwap app: tap Details, then Install anyway. Installing from Google Play avoids the warning.

It says "App not installed". What do I do?

Usually the phone is short of space or the download did not finish. Free up some space and try again from this page or Google Play. If you installed AirSwap from somewhere else before, uninstall that copy first, then sign in again. Nothing is lost.

Is there an iPhone app?

The iPhone app is under review by Apple. Tap Notify me for iPhone and we will tell you when it is ready.

Can I use AirSwap outside Ghana?

No. AirSwap works with Ghana phone numbers and Ghana Mobile Money wallets only.

Do I need to verify my identity?

You can sign up and start straight away. Before your first withdrawal we ask you to verify with your Ghana Card or passport, which keeps everyone’s money safe.
